The history of RibollaRibolla is one of the Western European grape varieties. It originates in Greece and it came to Slovenia through Italy, where it was first mentioned in the 14th century. It thrived in the hilly landscape. Its wood was reddish and its wine had more sediment. it is believed that it is an ancestor of today's Ribolla. Medieval records from 1256 mention that the territory of Goriška Brda already had this type of Ribolla variety planted in its vineyards.
Ribolla grapesRibolla has elongated grapes with rather tight bunches. Grape stalk is short. Berries are medium sized, round and yellowish with thick skin. Ribolla is a grape variety with medium grape density, with mid to late season ripening and regular and high yielding.
RebulaThe wine is crystalline with golden yellow colour . The bouquet is dominated by the vanilla notes and the fruity notes of white peach and grapes. The fruitiness, specially the taste of the grapes persist in the mouth and its minerality is perceived. The finish is long and intense. It's full-bodied, so it's a perfect match for structured dishes, such as white meat and vegetables.
